Varishini is the Director of the XD Hacks Mini Toronto! In the future she wants to become a cardiothoracic surgeon, her dream school is Stanford University. She is a grade 11 IB student, attending Maple High School. Her hobbies include reading anatomy books and viewing surgeries. She is part of other organizations, including YESci Ontario and OneStep First Aid, which she founded! Apart from medicine, Varishini is a swimmer and captain of her school’s swim team! She hopes to be part of more initiatives and movements related to STEM and medicine.
Mary is a senior at St. Theresa highschool and is our platform director! She is passionate about advocating for women and gender equality, especially in the STEM field, as well as spreading awareness about societal injustices. She dreams of one day working in the medical field and creating change step by step. Her passions drove her to join the executive teams of two organisations, YESci and Surge Ontario. During her free time, you can find Mary dancing at the studio or skateboarding around her neighborhood at sunset!
Michelle is the Head of Activities at XD Hacks Mini Toronto and is currently a senior at Bayview Secondary School! She is passionate about STEM and computer science and plans to pursue a career in these fields after high school. She also hopes to break societal norms surrounding women working in the STEM field. This passion is what led her to YESci Ontario and XD Hacks. In her spare time, you’ll find her watching anime, playing Minecraft or out getting boba!

Ilesha is a senior at Unionville High School and is one of our Design Directors! In her free time, you can find her scouring for new music, learning something new, watching Netflix, and strolling around her neighbourhood at sunset! She is extremely vocal and passionate about the gender and socioeconomic gap in STEM fields as well as about advocating for minority rights. In the future, she hopes to pursue a leadership position in medicine in order to bridge this gap and provide women and minorities with equal opportunities!

Aminah is one of the designer directors at XdHacks Mini Toronto. In her free time, she can be found buried under books, or whipping up something sweet in the kitchen. She is passionate about the socioeconomic disparity between first world and third world countries, and hopes to address this through education and innovation in STEM. Her plans for post secondary are uncertain, but she is certain that no matter the path, she will be creating a positive impact for her community.

Chloe Ding is a grade 10 pre-IB student attending St. Robert CHS, and is ecstatic to be one of the outreach coordinators! On a “normal” day in her crazy life, Chloe can be found squashed under school work, seated in front of sheet music, at a tennis court, or surrounded by classical music. When she’s not busy studying or at an extracurricular, she can be found exploring the neighbourhood or immersed in all the sci-fi books there are (the illuminae files =D). In the future, she aspires to go into health sciences at McMaster University.

Outreach coordinator
Manal Mohamed is one of the Outreach Coordinators, and is currently in her last year of high school at York Mills Collegiate Institute. During this time, she has taken on many personal projects including the production of her first webcomic. She is incredibly passionate about digital art and has won many awards for her drawings. She is equally as passionate about STEM and engineering as well as providing women opportunities in the field, as she has very few girls in her classes. Her plans after high school are to pursue robotics engineering possibly abroad, whilst also growing success in her upcoming webcomic, and has large plans to serialize said comic into an anime one day!
Agnes Kim
Outreach Coordinator
Agnes Kim is a grade 12 student at St. Robert CHS and is one of the outreach coordinators for XdHacks Toronto! She is passionate about medicine and dreams to pursue her career as a pharmacist. In her free time, you can find her binge watching Netflix with her friends, listening to music or working out! She loves and dedicates herself to her job as pharmacy assistant every morning on the weekends. Agnes joined YESci because she wanted an experiential opportunity for social growth by creating and organizing with a team!
Akshaya is a senior at Bradford District High School and is thrilled to be the head of finance. She enjoys volunteering at her local hospital and being a part of the student council. In her spare time, she loves to sing, play the violin and spend time outdoors with her family and friends. She wants to attend a science-based program and hopes to pursue a career in dentistry. She is passionate about creating a world where everyone is equal. She believes that women have a voice and they should be encouraged to use it!

Anne is a senior in the IB program at Ancaster High School and one of the event managers for XdHacks Mini Toronto. They’re passionate about the intersection between medicine, policy, and journalism, and hope to work in public health or epidemiology in the future. When they’re not managing their school newspaper or volunteering in their community, they can be found hiking, drawing, or rambling about their interest of the week to their friends.

Geoffrey is one of the event managers at XdHacks. He currently attends Bayview SS as a senior and is looking forward to entering an university engineering program when he graduates. He is passionate about all things STEM, which drew him into a McMaster Engineering internship and YESci Ontario. In his free time, he’s thinking about how much time he can procrastinate on his work, finding places to go to photograph nature, and probably reading something. He also loves to go on bike rides or runs and explore the community around him.

In the future, he aspires to pursue engineering at Waterloo as he has a strong passion for STEM! He joined YESci because he has a passion to give youth the opportunity to experience initiatives involving STEM.
